Manufacturing Process – Neoprene Rubber Sheets

The ingredients involved for Rubber Processing are Chemicals like Sulphur, Zinc Oxide, TMT, Titanium, MBTS. Minerals like Calcium Carbonate, Carbon. Processing oil called RPO (Rubber Processing Oil), all these ingredients are mixed together using Rubber processing machinery which includes Ban-bury mixture, Kneader machine, mixing mills, calendaring machine, extrude machine, hydraulic press, roto-cure & cooling conditioner.

There are two types of Rubber available namely Natural, Synthetic. Natural rubber is derived from Rubber Tree (Hevea brasiliensis) after processing of milk type of material licking from rubber tree (called Latex).

Synthetic Rubber is a petroleum based product, manufactured using content derived from crude oil & with the addition of certain chemicals by means of Industrial application. There are varieties of synthetic Rubber available in market like Chloroprene (Neoprene), Silicone, EPDM, Fluoro-elastomer, Nitrile, Hypalon, Butyl, all these grades differs in terms of there application & specifications,

For example- Neoprene – is resistant to Oil, Acid, Alkalies, hydrocarbons and are heat resistant.

Silicone – are highly resistant to temperature, these can bear up to 250 degree Celsius.

EPDM – are resistant to whether, temperature, aging, radiations, EPDM Rubber prevents Water or Liquid to pass through & that’s the reason it is widely used in Water Proof Roofing, Canal & Ponds Lining.

Nitrile – or NBR Sheets are permeable to gases, therefore used as gaskets for packing purposes.

Viton or Fluoroelastomer – is resistant to a wide range of oils and solvents. It exhibits good abrasion and tear resistance. These sheets can bear high temperature very well.

The demand for raw rubber has been increased rapidly over a fast few years, mostly because of revolution in Automobile sector, Tyre are a basic component of any automobile, due to which prices of both Natural & synthetic Rubber are getting up day by day. Tyre Industry account for at least 80% consumption of the total Rubber (both Natural & Synthetic) produced in the world.

The other major Rubber product is Industrial Rubber Sheets, these are use in a variety of applications such as gaskets, packing, Electrical Insulation & matting purposes. In modern days, rubber sheets are manufactured using blend of Natural & Synthetic Rubber & are available in different colors like green, red, blue, green, black but for industrial Purposes Black color is preferred.

The Raw Material used in Rubber Sheet manufacturing differs on the basis of application, like silicone is used for Heat resistant purpose, Neoprene for Acid & Heat like wise other material for particular applications.

Apart of Industrial Rubber Sheeting, other products manufacturing by processing of Raw Rubber are Hoses, Mats, tyre, condoms, Medical equipments, Oil Seals, Gaskets, Yoga Mats, Conveyor Belts, Footwear, Printing rollers, Electrical Insulation Mats.
